Frequently asked questions about The Newcastle Show.
Do I need to pre-book tickets?
Although you are not required to pre-book tickets, prices increase at midnight 24 February. We also strongly encourage that you pre-purchase tickets online in order to secure your preferred date due to capacity regulations and to also expedite entry at the gate. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.

What are some things I can do at the Show that won’t cost additional money?
There are more than 50 displays, events, performances and activities that are included with entry.
Are dogs allowed at the Show?
No, unfortunately dogs are not permitted at the Newcastle Show this year.
The only exceptions are accredited service or assistance dogs, or dogs that are officially entered to compete in Show events.
This policy is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors, animals, and exhibitors.
How much is entry?
Early Bird prices until the start of the show: Adult Entry $25, Child Entry $15. Family Entry (2 adults/2 children) $65, Concession Entry $15, Student Entry (16/17 years) $15.
Ticket pricing from 28 February – Adult Entry $30, Child Entry $20. Family Entry (2 adults/2 children) $75, Concession Entry $20, Student Entry (16/17 years) $20.
Tickets are valid for entry for one day only. You do not need to choose what day you attend at time of purchase.
How much are rides?
Rides are independently operated so prices will vary between $6 and up to $15, with extreme rides costing $20.
Can I purchase an all-you-can ride pass?
Rides are independently operated so an all-you-can-ride pass is not available.
Do I need to bring cash?
There are ATMs available at the Showgrounds however you can also pay for things using a bank card.
What’s the best way to get there?
We strongly encourage public transportation and Broadmeadow Rail station is right next to the Showground. In addition, buses run regularly along Griffiths Road – click here for Newcastle Transport information.
What are the dates of the event?
The 2026 Newcastle Show will be held from the 27 Feb – 1 March 2026, starting at 9:00am daily and running until 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday and 5:00pm on Sunday.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final and no refunds will be offered, so please make purchasing decisions carefully.
Can I leave the Showgrounds and come back?
There are no pass outs available to come and go from the showground.
Is there a disability viewing platform?
The Newcastle Showground aims to be accessible and welcoming to all. The walkways are sealed and accessible toilets are located within the showgrounds. A disability viewing platform is located directly in front of the Member’s Grandstand
Do you offer free entry to people with companion/carer cards?
Yes. When you arrive at the ticket booth, show your Companion Carer card alongside the person you’re assisting who has purchased a ticket.
Is there is a quiet space?
There is a ‘quiet’ space with Aruma located under the grandstand.
When will the competition results be announced?
Usually within a week of the show, depending on the competition.
What is the smoking policy?
The Newcastle Show is a non-smoking event. This includes E cigarettes and other electronic imitations or simulation devices. A designated smoking area is available. Cigarettes, matches and lighters are not available for sale.
Is there parking?
Parking is available at Richardson Park which is on Griffiths Road across from the Showground and also at Wanderers Outer Oval (including disability parking). Cost is $10 for the day. Easy drop off is on Brown Rd.
