Mackas Pastoral Bucking Bulls Rodeo to debut at the Coates Newcastle Show 2026

The Coates Newcastle Show is thrilled to announce a major new headline attraction for 2026 — the Mackas Pastoral Bucking Bulls Rodeo, with the competition organised by Bucking Bulls Australia (BBA).

This adrenaline charged new feature will bring the raw excitement of elite bull riding to the Newcastle Showground, showcasing top riders and some of the countrys most athletic young bulls in a powerful arena showdown.

Bucking Bulls Australia is the only Australian run organisation producing standalone events where juvenile bulls are judged solely on their own performance, completely independent of the rider. This unique competition format allows fans, breeders, and competitors to track each bulls development through BBAs structured aged event system.

“Our events highlight the incredible talent and athleticism of 3, 4, and 5 plus year old bulls as they match up against skilled cowboys in high energy contests. By keeping entry fees accessible and maximising the add back in all events, BBA ensures greater payouts and more opportunities for competitors,” said a spokesperson for Bucking Bulls Australia.

As naming partner of the rodeo, Mackas Pastoral brings a longstanding heritage of excellence in Australian agriculture. A proudly family owned and operated business in the Hunter region, Mackas Pastoral is recognised for its commitment to sustainable farming, premium beef production, animal welfare, and strong community values. Their deep agricultural roots and passion for supporting regional events make them a perfect match for this major new addition to the Coates Newcastle Show.

The Mackas Pastoral Bucking Bulls Rodeo will make its debut on Friday night, 27 February 2026, kicking off the opening evening of the Coates Newcastle Show with a powerful and action packed arena event at the Newcastle Showground.
